Phillip Vannini, Canada Research Chair in Innovative Learning and Public Ethnography at Royal Roads, recently co-authored the book Wilderness with April Vannini for Routledge's Key Ideas in Geography series. This new publication provides a multidisciplinary introduction to the diverse ways people make sense of the elusive concept of wilderness. Drawing upon key theorists, philosophers, and researchers who have contributed important knowledge to the topic, Wilderness argues for a relational, process-based notion of the term, and understands it as key to the examination of issues from conservation to more-than-human relations.
