A scene from Harvesting Community, airing this month on Shaw TV

Harvesting Community, a film created by Craig Sorochan as his thesis for the Royal Roads University's Master of Arts in Professional Communication (MAPC) program, and featured on the Public Ethnography as Innovative Learning site, is airing on Shaw TV on Vancouver Island this month.

Sorchoran used his skills as a producer and documentary filmmaker to explore the thriving organic farming culture and food culture of British Columbia’s southwest coast by creating this ethnographic film for his MAPC thesis. While organic food production and consumption are increasingly mainstream, many organic farmers have identified communication of the value of organic farming as a key challenge, and Craig’s film seeks to bridge the communications gap between organic farmers and consumers.

The film is airing on Shaw TV (Channel 4 in Victoria):

  • Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 9 AM
